Extra Helps #10 - Giving Away Bibles

Do your students have Bibles of their own? All students, great and small, need to possess their own copy of God's Word. It does not need to be expensive, ornate, or have the 'extras' that many Bibles include, such as a concordance, Bible maps, red letters, or finger tabs. Just a plain, simple Bible will do. Perhaps there are discount stores in your neighborhood that sell a King James Version for one dollar, as there are in mine. A very good investment for teaching and reading.

What better way to teach students to cherish God's Word than to own their own Bible. There are helpful songs for young students on this blog. Take a look at "The Bible, The Bible" or "The B-I-B-L-E" on February - Songs We Sing In Bible Class #2, teaching that the Bible is God's Word and should be treasured and loved. We must appreciate the bountiful blessings that God extends to those seeking His Word. We need to be thankful for our own copy of the Bible and make sure that we do all that we can to help others receive a Bible of their own. We must believe with our whole heart and teach those with whom we come in contact that God's Word is our most valuable possession and should be more desired than gold. (Psalms 19:7-10).
