From whom did you learn the things that you know about the Bible? Do you remember? Of course, you remember!
- Maybe there was a sweet sister in the church who took an interest in you and cared if you knew God's Word.
- Or perhaps it was a brother who taught you in Bible class and really made you learn. Oh, you complained at the time, but as you grew older, you appreciated the way in which he made you remember the lessons he taught from God's Word.
- Possibly, there was a faithful Gospel preacher who made the lessons so simple, so plain, and so alive that you couldn't wait to hear the next lesson.
- You might have been fortunate enough to have had a godly mother and father who brought you up in the nurture and admonition of the LORD. You learned when you didn't even know you were learning!
Are we that someone? Do we care enough to teach someone God's Word, so that they, too, might become wise and teach the Truth to others? Proverbs 11:30 says, "...he that winneth souls is wise." We need to look to our students and speak where the Bible speaks and be silent where the Bible is silent. May we "hold fast the form of sound words..." (2 Timothy1:13)...and teach it!
